Excel Label Printing
How to import data from Excel or CSV files to generate hundreds of unique labels in minutes.
Step 1: Prepare Your Spreadsheet
Create an Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file with one column per data field. Use clear column headers:
| Name | Address | City | Barcode |
|---|---|---|---|
| John Smith | 123 Main St | New York | 5901234123457 |
| Jane Doe | 456 Oak Ave | Chicago | 5901234123464 |
| Bob Wilson | 789 Pine Rd | Los Angeles | 5901234123471 |
Each row becomes one label. The column headers become field names you can reference in your label design.
Step 2: Create Your Label Template
Open Lableo and create a new project. Choose your label type (roll or A4 sheet) and size. Then design your label template:
- Add regular text for static content (your company name, logo, etc.)
- Add Variable Text elements for dynamic content — these will be replaced with data from your spreadsheet
Step 3: Import Your Data
Click the Data Import button in the editor toolbar. Upload your Excel or CSV file. Lableo reads the file and shows the column headers.
Step 4: Map Columns to Variable Text Fields
For each Variable Text element on your label, select which spreadsheet column should provide the data. For example:
- Variable Text "Recipient" → Column "Name"
- Variable Text "Street" → Column "Address"
- Variable Text "City" → Column "City"
- Barcode element → Column "Barcode"
Lableo generates one label page per spreadsheet row with the mapped data filled in.
Step 5: Review & Print
Use the page panel to browse through all generated labels and verify the data. Then print — for A4 sheets, labels are automatically arranged on the page.
Tips
- Clean your data before importing — remove empty rows and fix formatting issues
- For barcodes, ensure the barcode column contains valid numbers for your chosen format
- You can re-import updated data without redesigning the label template
- CSV files should use UTF-8 encoding for non-English characters
